This 25 acres arboretum is a remarkable example of
contemporary design. 6 500 woody plants, trees and shrubs of temperate climates, are disposed in landscaped areas. The visitors walk in a succession of woodland gardens, representing the far East and North America. The arboretum is located in the midst of the Orléans forest. The use of chemicals is prohibited in cultivation, since the start of the arboretum in 1971. Hence it is a Regional Reserve for birds and insects. |
